Flamingo Dots

At the garden show this month, someone asked me if I had done any flamingos. No....but here is the first one! Painting all the pinks against the blue background was fun. The only title that came to me while working on this was Flamingo Dots, which seems rather uninspired, but fits nonetheless. :)

One Small Light

It's been a busy couple of weeks for sure! To get back into painting I decided to do the Daily Paintworks Challenge for the week, which is to paint a candle. I found a tiny, clear glass holder with a votive candle inside, then darkened the room to take some reference photos of the little flame in the darkness. Loved the contrast and tried to recreate it here!

Bashful Blue Tit

This little one looks almost shy, so I am calling her "Bashful". Still loving these colors!

Little Blue Tit

I have never seen this sweet bird around here, but I've seen plenty of pictures and the blue and yellow combination is so charming that I had to paint one. Or maybe two or three....stay tuned. :)

Giraffe Attitude

Our last week and a half has been crazy busy! We went camping with almost 300 kids, aged 12-18, for an LDS Youth Conference, then we took a 12 hour road trip to Utah to visit with family for a couple days! It's good to be home again (for a couple weeks) and I look forward to getting a little painting done before our next adventure. (Canoe Camping!)

I get a kick out of the expression of this giraffe, so here he is again, but with different crazy colors.
